What people are saying

  • "I am so happy I found these bamboo boba straws. I wanted something more eco friendly and absolutely despise paper straws."

    JJ

  • “These straws do not melt in your drink, nor collapse in your mouth. I mostly use them for coffee, and I've never had one decompose on me.”

  • "[The soup spoons are] much sturdier than I expected. Used for a cocktail party for dumplings and sauce. They don’t look like cheap disposable items."

Get a $300 grant to help purchase compliant foodware

Starting September 6, 2023, the City of Cupertino will enforce a Single-Use Plastics Foodware Ordinance to curtail plastic waste in local food-service establishments. The regulations ban single-use foodware for dine-in and require compostable foodware for takeout. Only natural fiber-based compostable materials are allowed (paper, wood, sugar-cane, bamboo, etc), PLA is not allowed except as liners.

PandaBoard is made out of natural bamboo fiber and is compliant with this ordinance. The city is also offering grants of up to $300 to help in the transition. See the City of Cupertino Information for Food Facilities page to apply for the grant and exemptions and this ordinance summary page for a summary of the details.
